Acceptance and eligibility

These terms apply when you visit or use afterthat, which is operated by SECUNDUS LLC. By using the service, or by confirming when you sign in, you agree to these terms. The Privacy policy explains how we handle information. afterthat is for adults 18 and over. If you are under 18, do not use the service.

If you use afterthat for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to create and manage its events and series. You are responsible for following applicable law and for the information you choose to publish.

What afterthat provides

afterthat keeps event conversations going after people meet. An event is a gathering with its own invitation and room; it may have a date or remain undated. A series links recurring events and has an ongoing room. Members can share messages and profiles in rooms they joined. A DM is a private one-to-one conversation that starts only after the recipient accepts a request.

The service is currently free to join and host. Event details, schedules, room availability, and delivery can change. Do not rely on afterthat as an emergency, medical, financial, or other time-critical service.

Accounts and sign-in

Sign-in uses a magic link sent to the email address you provide. A link expires after 15 minutes and can be used once. A first-party session cookie can keep you signed in for up to 30 days. Keep control of your email account, do not forward a sign-in link, and tell us if you think someone used one without permission.

Keep your profile information current and choose a display name, bio, links, and event or series profile information you are comfortable showing to members of the relevant room. You are responsible for activity through your account and for the content you submit.

Member content

You keep any ownership rights you have in the text, profile information, links, and other content you submit. You give afterthat a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, store, reproduce, display, and transmit that content as needed to operate, secure, moderate, and support the service, including showing it to members who can access the relevant room.

You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit content and share any personal information, links, images, or other material in it. Content can remain as conversation history after you delete your account. Your account deletion changes your identity to “Deleted member”; it does not delete or anonymize the text of messages you wrote. See the Privacy policy for details.

Members can remove their own messages, and organizers can remove messages in the event and series rooms they manage. A removal leaves a visible “Message removed” marker. Organizers never receive access to members’ DMs through their organizer role.

Acceptable use

Follow the Community guidelines. In particular, do not use afterthat to harass, threaten, impersonate, spam, expose someone else’s private information without permission, bypass access controls or bans, share sign-in links, or conduct illegal activity. Do not attempt to access rooms, profiles, messages, or accounts you are not authorized to access.

Do not interfere with the service, probe or overload its infrastructure, introduce malicious code, or use automated access in a way that harms members or exceeds the service’s intended limits.

Organizer authority and room moderation

Organizers manage the events and series connected to their organization. They can remove messages and ban members from rooms they manage. A series ban revokes access to the series and its events. An event-only ban remains limited to that event. Lifting a ban allows a person to try to join again; it does not automatically restore memberships. Existing message history is not erased by a ban.

Organizer authority is limited to the event and series rooms they manage. It does not grant access to members’ DMs. DM participants can accept, decline, or block a request; a blocked or declined conversation keeps its history and cannot receive new messages.

Account deletion and organization ownership

You can delete your account from Settings after recent sign-in confirmation. Deletion is permanent for that account. If you are the sole organizer of an organization, the organization closes and its future or undated events are canceled while existing conversations remain for existing members. If another organizer remains, the organization stays active. A later sign-up creates a new account.

Enforcement and service changes

We may remove content, limit access, close a DM, or suspend an account when needed to enforce these terms or the guidelines, respond to reports, protect members or the service, or comply with law. Organizers may apply the room controls described above. We may change, pause, or discontinue part of the service, including when providers or infrastructure are unavailable. We may also close the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe other people’s copyrights.

If you believe a moderation decision is mistaken, email help@afterthat.chat with the room link and a clear explanation. Do not send a password or sign-in link.

Disclaimers and liability

afterthat is provided on an “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not promise that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for a particular purpose, or that every message will be delivered or retained. You decide what to share and how to rely on event details or messages.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability, remedies, or consumer protections that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. To the extent the law permits any limitation, it applies only to that extent.

Governing law

Florida law governs these terms and disputes arising from the service, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory consumer protections and other rights that apply where you live remain available to you.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms as afterthat changes. We will update the date above and describe material changes on this page. If you continue using the service after an effective update, the updated terms apply to future use, subject to mandatory rights.

Material changes on September 15, 2026: SECUNDUS LLC now operates afterthat in place of Nicholas Underwood personally. Signing in now includes confirming that you are 18 or older and agree to these terms and the Privacy policy, and the Community guidelines describe copyright complaints in more detail. How the service works and your account are otherwise unchanged.
