For account help, privacy questions or abuse reports, email help@afterthat.chat.
Include the meetup or conversation link and a short description of what happened. Share only the message details needed to explain the issue. Never send a password or sign-in link. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
Keep it welcoming
Treat people with respect. Do not harass, threaten, impersonate, spam, or share someone else's private information without permission. Do not use afterthat for illegal content or activity.
Organizers can remove room messages and ban members. A series ban covers the series and all its events. You can remove your own messages and block a direct conversation. Blocking prevents new messages in that conversation and preserves its history.
Who can see what
An invitation link or code shows the event's name, description, location and time. Anyone with it can request to join, subject to sign-in and access restrictions. Share invitations with the people you intend to welcome.
Room members can see its messages and member profiles. Joining an event also joins its ongoing series conversation; other event chats stay separate. A private conversation starts when both people agree. Organization management does not grant access to members' DMs.
Messages are stored on the service and are not end-to-end encrypted. Service operators and infrastructure providers may need to process stored data to run the service, handle support or investigate abuse.
Data and account choices
afterthat stores your email for sign-in, your profile, memberships and conversations. A session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. Sign-in protection and hosting providers also process technical information needed to deliver and protect the service. afterthat currently has no advertising or optional analytics trackers.
Leaving a room removes your access and keeps its messages. Leaving a series keeps event chats you already joined and your DMs. Direct conversations stay available as history when blocked or when one person deletes their account.
In Settings, you can edit your base profile or delete your account. Deletion clears your account identity and profiles, signs you out, and preserves messages as history from a former member. Text you wrote may still identify you; remove your own messages before deleting your account if you want their text removed. Organizations with no remaining organizer close; co-hosted organizations continue.
Removal changes the live service. Backups may retain earlier copies until they expire. Contact help@afterthat.chat for requests or questions that the account controls do not cover.
